Underage Drinking Prevention Campaigns
The Parent Up Campaign
As part of a comprehensive strategic plan to reduce underage drinking, the Northland Coalition implements the Parent Up campaign every spring. Parent Up is a messaging campaign that encourages parents to set no-use rules with their kids about underage drinking.
It is devastating that 1 of every 5 Missouri youth start drinking alcohol by age 12. But…there is good news! Parent Up reminds parents that they have the greatest influence over their child’s decision to drink alcohol. Parent Up provides tools and resources for parents to establish healthy rules regarding alcohol and increase their communication with their child about this topic.
You can access all the Parent Up information by visiting the campaign’s website at parentupkc.com.
It is our goal to distribute the Parent Up information to anyone and everyone in the Kansas City Northland. If you are interested in hearing more, please feel free to contact us about materials and messages by email or call us at 816-877-0498.
The Full Potential Campaign
This campaign, created for the Northland Coalition by the internationally renowned marketing firm VML, communicates the harms and dangers of underage drinking on the adolescent brain. Data shows that parents don’t believe they can stop their kids from drinking, therefore they allow their child to drink underage, especially if it happens in their home under their supervision. This campaign communicates the facts about the harms of underage drinking (beyond those commonly known about drunk driving) on the adolescent brain. By not providing alcohol to minors, we are not only keeping them safe tonight but we are keeping them safe long0term by allowing them to remain healthy and reach their full potential.
It is our goal to distribute the Full Potential campaign information to anyone and everyone in the Kansas City Northland. Please contact us for materials and messages by email or call us at 816-877-0498.
