Those Who Host, Lose the Most
This campaign communicates the serious legal ramifications for providing alcohol to minors. Yard signs, handouts, posters, and window clings are available with the following information. Request products for distribution here.
What you should know:
- You cannot give alcohol to anyone under the age of 21 under any circumstance, even in your own home, even with their parent’s permission.
- You cannot knowingly allow a minor to remain in your home or on your property while consuming or possession alcohol
If you break the law:
- In addition to possible criminal charges, you can be sued if you provide alcohol to a minor and they, in turn, hurt someone, hurt themselves or damage property.
Things you can do as a parent to prevent underage drinking:
- Refuse to allow minors to consume alcohol in your home or on your property
- Be at home when your teen has a party
- Make sure that alcohol is not brought into your home or onto your property by minors
- Talk to other parents about not providing alcohol at other events your child will be attending
- Create alcohol-free opportunities and activities in your home so teens will feel welcome.

Youth are at a much greater risk for underage drinking during prom and graduation season. To help keep these events safe, the Northland Coalition works with alcohol retailers, high schools, florists, formal wear merchants, hotel and motel managers, law enforcement, limousine services and prosecuting attorneys to educate and help prevent underage drinking and illegal activity at parties. Information Nights/Family Universities

Retailer Trainings
